Heartbreak Baby

They say not to make big decisions when you're drunk. I say f*ck that.

Because four shots deep in a dive bar, when a stranger says "let's make a baby," it feels like the best. Idea. Ever.

In my defense, I walked in on my boyfriend balls-deep in someone else on the exact day we were supposed to start trying to knock me up.

So excuse me for not being rational when Sumner Wells takes the barstool beside me.

The man flies airplanes into hurricanes for a living, so clearly he's got a screw loose. He's also got a deep voice, a filthy mouth, and a pair of forearms that have no business being that sexy.

But the thing that gets me most? The betrayal in his eyes that looks a whole lot like mine.

He wants a baby. So do I. And after getting screwed over by the people we thought we'd spend our lives with, neither of us is interested in falling in love again.

So we make a pact.

We'll have a baby together, raise it as friends, and keep our hearts the hell out of it.

Simple, right?

Except the sex that night is the best I've ever had.

And Sumner? He's everything I never knew I wanted. Bossy, protective, and absolutely filthy in bed. And his love language? Acts of service—which is a whole lot sexier than it sounds.

The bigger my belly gets, the more I want things from him that were never part of the plan.

Turns out making a baby with a stranger was the easy part.

Keeping my heart out of it? That's going to take a damn miracle.
